Since the debut of his acclaimed television show Freaks and Geeks, writer, producer, and director Judd Apatow has become a brand name. He has a new movie out this month — This Is 40 — and also guest-edits the January “Comedy Issue” of Vanity Fair.

Adam opens the show talking with Judd about his amazing experience watching an early screening of ‘This Is 40’. The guys then share their love of Graham Parker’s music, and wonder why the world hasn’t embraced him. Judd also talks about directing his wife and children in the movie, and the importance of being emotionally accurate when telling a story. Later they discuss Adam’s film, ‘The Hammer’, and Judd asks Adam why he hasn’t made a second movie yet. As the show wraps up, Judd tells behind-the-scenes stories about the other films he’s made, and they also talk about watching your kids grow-up.
